History of the hunters of the deep.
Humans and Sharks have never had a good history. Sharks have been regarded as monsters that eat only humans and this goes on even today. Most Sharks don't even know what you are when they bite you and others out of self-defense. Sharks have been around for a very long time and during prehistoric times they were not the top of the underwater food chain. However there was the shark that was the longest shark in the world, its name was the Megaladon and it was fifty feet long, but this was millions of years ago. Before Humans started hunting sharks the ocean was populated with hundreds of sharks, and most of them were misunderstood. The first shark attack was in 1518 and the case was that a sailor aboard a ship had fallen over the side and as his comrades threw him a rope a shark came a tore him to shreds, but this was only their description. Most people back then did not have much knowledge of sharks so people took what they knew( which was that sharks killed people) and used that to turn sharks into monstrous man-eaters. An early drawing of a shark was an artist's impression of a shark but he got the length, size and some of its anatomy wrong, and this shows that he was probably writing from a person's description, and not actual facts. Today people know more about sharks than they did back then, and hopefully will use this knowledge to end the prejudice against sharks.
